Basic Information About Accounts
How to create a new account. Free accounts are limited to three per household. All accounts within the same household must use the same email address.
Tips for selecting a user name. This will be your identity as a player and on the forum, not just used for login, so you might like to pick something you would use as the name of a farm or stable.
- Create all of the accounts in your household using the same email address
- Do not create more than three free accounts to prevent your accounts from being locked. You may own as many upgraded accounts as you like.
- Everything costs money! The currency used on Hunt and Jump is referred to as HBs, or Horsebucks.
- Take your time! Use your first couple of breeding seasons to get a feel for how the game works, and what is available. Start a herd of show horses to earn extra spending money for your barn. Then set your focus on more specific goals like color and quality.
- One of the best parts of Hunt And Jump is that the pace is more relaxed and therefore more enjoyable!
Can I Change My Username and Stable Name?
-
- Yes, but only if your account is less than 2 weeks old, or has symbols other than letters and numbers, in which case you may change your Username for free.
- Existing accounts may change their username for a cost of 4 GMTs (GMT is officially Gene Modification Treatment tokens. They are also used for purchases other than Gene Modification, though!).
Why does it say my account is associated with someone else's account?
- Internet Service Providers are given a block of numbers called IP addresses that are rotated for their users. Each time a user logs on, their computer is given one of those IP addresses. When that user ends the session, that IP address is released for use by another user. So, if your Internet Service Provider is a large, national one, you can become associated with another user somewhere else because you both have been randomly assigned the same IP address at some time.
Unless you are paying to have a stable IP address, you will frequently have a different one each time you log into the Internet.
- There may be a similar mechanism involved with phone access to the internet. If both you and the other player have the same cell phone carrier and they use a rotating block of these numbers, you could easily have become suddenly, randomly associated.

Your Barns & Pastures
Your Primary Barn
About the features of your primary barn. (Can't auto show.) The meaning of each column, status icons, and how to use the sort by feature. Moving horses. Bulk testing/naming. View in search feature (link to appropriate how to use search page). How to earn more stalls? How to add additional barns to your stable (link to section in Upgrades article)?
What do the letters on my barn page mean? (in the Status column)
-
- On your barn page you will occasionally see letters and/or symbols appear to the right of your horses statistics. These symbols are a quick way to see which horses in that barn are for sale, in the auction, entered in a show, or available for public breeding.
- "A" means that this particular horse has been entered in an Auction.
- "B" means that this particular horse is up for public brood or stud.
- "E" means that this particular horse has been entered in a show.
- "$" means that this horse is up for public sale
- "$*" means that your horse is up for sale in a chat room.

Beginners' Bonuses and Achievement Tasks
Your go-to orientation/walk-through.
Beginners Bonuses
- In order to help you get started, there are some benefits that are only available to new players.
- Showing bonus - Your daily showing bonus depends on the total number of show points your horses bring to the barn. Building up a show herd takes time, so to help you out, new horses that you create will have a random number of show points assigned to them, up to 1000 points. This bonus will continue until your total points reaches 20,000 (See the Performance Overview section of your main stable page, where it says "You currently hold xx,xxx points"). Once that happens your newly created horses will have to earn their points by showing. (Editors: This information needs to be updated to reflect the new total points you've created as opposed to total points you own)
- If you drop back down below 20k per day, your new create horses will start to have the show points added once again.
- Horses with points already earned will keep those points.
- If you drop back down below 20k per day, your new create horses will start to have the show points added once again.
- Achievement Tasks
- Achievement tasks are like a tutorial, they show you how the different parts of the game work, but they also bring rewards for completing each task. Some are cash rewards, and others are 'experience points' that help you earn new stalls in your main barn.
- One Acheivement Tasks directs you to post on the forum in your Peer Group Discussion section. The link to your Peer Group Discussion will appear in orange letters on the list of links on the left side of the page. There is a different Peer Group Discussion for each month.
- Once you post in the correct discussion you will get a new 15 stall barn, and 25,000 extra HBs to spend! Make your post as long, or as short as you like, but we hope you will let us know a little bit about you and your history with horses.

- You will have the opportunity to purchase a 3 month Basic upgrade for $1.99 (US). That is 90% off the regular price! This includes ANOTHER 25,000 HBs to spend how you like, and a new 10 acre pasture. Look for the offer in the side menu bars in bright orange letters!
- Games, Contests, and Giveaways are constantly being run by players on the forums. Many are for players who are new to the game, or who have been playing less than 6 months. The games and contests frequently have very nice prizes of cash, horses, or other features of the game.

- How to join/leave a chat room
- Customize your chat text color
- Breeding/selling features (Same as note below, just mention this with a link to Buying & Selling.)
- How to create one (Maybe this also should be just a mention with a link to more detailed directions?)
- About required upgrades, chat room permissions/settings, and contacting the owner of the chat room if selling currently isn't allowed. (Warning: If you leave a chat room, all horses you currently have up for sale or breeding will be removed from the listing!) (Details of this could be moved to Buying & Selling. Just mention and link here.)
- Chat room etiquette, respecting reserved sales
Pan-Server Chat Rooms
There are currently four pan-server chat rooms listed near the top of the Buddy Chat Lobby:
- New Member Welcome (New members, feel free to introduce yourself here.)
- Player Support (Need help? Experienced players across all three servers can answer your questions here.)
- General Hangout (A place for members to hang out and general nonsense... as long as nonsense is kept to a reasonable level. ;) )
- Player Wiki Chat (Want to help contribute to this wiki? Join this chat room to get started!)
These chat rooms are for members logged into any server to hang out and chat. They are public for all members and there is no need to ask for access to participate. Only admin can create pan-server chats and they are for chat only, no buying/selling or posting horses for breeding (since horses cannot be transferred between servers.) Also note that pan-server rooms do not count towards achievement tasks.
How Can I Connect With Other Members?
-
-
- We have a great community of users here at HuntAndJump, and many ways to connect with other players.
- The Forum: The forum is broken into sections. Section links are on the right, or you can click “All Discussions” to see everything at once. Some of the categories and links that can be found on the forum include:
- New member introductions (stop by and say Hi!) Includes the Peer Group Discussion thread for the month you joined the game.
- Breeding ads and offers
- Sales and member run auctions

- Bookmarking forum posts
- Facebook: there are two groups and one page on Facebook that you can follow.
- An Unofficial (but endorsed) sales page. The Sales/Breeding page is pretty self explanatory.
- The Hunt & Jump Official page - here you will find headlines, game news, contest information, Weekend Wishes, gene sales, and a whole lot more
- The Hunt & Jump official discussion page -this page holds all of the above, and shows off member horses, can help with (appropriate) questions and advice, and Herd Helper shares, but does not allow for breeding or sales notices.
- Buddy Chat: Accessed from the Forum page, Buddy chats are chat rooms created and run by upgraded members for private sales and/or breeding opportunities between friends
- You can request membership in private chat rooms that are dedicated to a specific subject like coat colors, or specific genes, and more.
- There are some chat rooms that upgraded members have made available for anyone to wander in and ask questions, or simply gab with other members who have similar interests, without needing to request membership. This includes the Player Support chat room. Anyone can ask questions and get input from a variety of different players.
- In order to create or add people to a chat room you must have an upgraded account, but any member can participate.
- Search users:If you know a players username (usually the same as the stable, but not always!) you can check out their public barn pages by using this tab to search for that user and any associated accounts.

What If there are conflicts among players?
-
- There are steps you can take to address in game issues with other players. If you simply can't get along, go ahead and block that player. You will be asked to briefly describe the problem and what, if any steps you have taken to remedy the situation. You can block another member by going to the My Blocked Member list on the right navigation bar on the main stable page.
- If you are being continuously harassed through means out of game control, contact an Admin via forum message and be prepared to offer up solid evidence of the harassment. Bullying is not tolerated on this game for any reason.
The Newsletter: Don't Miss Out!
How and where to sign up for the newsletter, how often they go out, and what to look for in them. I think this needs to live in resources, with content duplicated here. Or vice versa.
How do I get the newsletter?
-
- You need to sign up for the newsletter.
- 1. Go to your Member Home page/Stable Overview
2. Scroll down to Account and Stable Management
3. Find the Manage Email Settings link and click it
4. Scroll down to the second section and fill out the form. - Some general information about the newsletter:
We would like to get the newsletter out every month, but that does not always happen. Keep a lookout for an announcement on the News And Alerts section on the right side of your game page. You will also get a notice in your email. - If the newsletter does not show up in your email, be sure to check your spam folder, or, on Gmail, your promotions folder. Unfortunately, some email companies block newsletters. If that is the case, sadly, the only option is to use a different email host. We use the largest newsletter sending service available to try and avoid problems, but there are some services that just won't work.

How to sign up for the newsletter
After reading the contest description, I realized that although I am signed up for the newsletter, I don't remember how to sign up for it. It's a good thing that teaching others is a great way to learn! The newsletter always comes with a super-secret link to create a foundation with 1000 points, and often includes special access to more exclusive Rank Specials and other goodies, so it's a good one to sign up for! Here's how you do it:
From any page on Hunt and Jump, navigate to the left-hand side bar and click on "Member Home" under "My Stable". This will take you to your home page, which has lots of different features to help you manage your stable and your account.
On your home page, you will see a list of drop-down tabs. Click the second one down: "Account and Stable Management". Under the first header, "Account Management", click the link that says "Manage Email Settings".
Scroll down the page and fill out the Newsletter sign-up form. Voila! You now have security clearance for all the latest updates Ammit has to offer.

HBs and IVs: What Are They?
HB is the abbreviation for the currency used in the Hunt & Jump game. You can have a maximum of 9,999,999 HBs in your stable account; beyond that you will need to invest in IVs.
IVs are investment vouchers. They are used to purchase Basic upgrades, tack packs, GMTs, and other things. One IV will cost 12,500 HBs.
Why does my cash balance stop at 9,999,999?
-
- To keep the game economy from running wild, the cap for all players HBs has been set at 9,999,999. When you get close to, or hit that cap, you can always purchase IVs (Investment Vouchers) and either save them and/or use them to purchase certain other features in the game.
Where Can I Get Backgrounds and Tack?
Where can I get tack for my horse, and those beautiful backgrounds?
-
- There are some items that are available for free, to all players. They can be found by going to the Tack tab on your horses individual page.
You can get more specialized and fancy tack by purchasing the various tack packs that are for sale on the Upgrade with Game Money page, then click IV Shopping. Tack Pack prices vary between 1 and several hundred IVs (Investment Vouchers) per Tack Pack, and each one contains numerous different items, including background images. (link to tack packs in Just For Fun)

Introduction to the Search Tool (Under Construction by Follies)
This article is intended to give you a basic overview of the search tool. You can find an exhaustingly in-depth tutorial here: How to Use the Search Tool.
The default sorting order for search results is by ID number. In general, you will see the oldest horses first.
1. Key Filters tab
- Name: search by the horse's name. Example: "Spot"
- Like: Returns all horses with names that include the letters S-P-O-T in consecutive order; in addition to Spot, you will get results such as Spotted, Spots, Spotless, Fusspot, Sunspot, etc. (There are 37 pages of them at the time of this writing.)
- Not Like: Returns all horses with names that do NOT include the letters S-P-O-T in consecutive order. Without additional search parameters, finding what you want is impossible. (There are 33,197 pages of them at the time of this writing.)
Try it yourself! Search for horses with a name of your choice.
- Status: search horses by their status.
- For Sale: If this is the only box checked, search returns all horses currently listed for public sale.
- For Auction: If this is the only box checked, search returns all horses currently listed in the auction.
- For Breeding: If this is the only box checked, search returns all horses currently listed for public breeding.
- HAJ Ambassador: If this is the only box checked, search returns all horses which have been selected as HAJ Ambassadors. (What is an ambassador?)
- And: Can be used with any combination of boxes checked above. Checking the box For Breeding AND HAJ Ambassador will return any horses which are currently listed for public breeding, and which have been selected as HAJ Ambassadors.
- Or: Can be used with any combination of boxes checked above. Checking the box For Breeding OR HAJ Ambassador will return all horses which are currently listed for public breeding and all horses which have been selected as HAJ Ambassadors.
Try it yourself! 1) How many HAJ Ambassadors are there? 2) Search for all horses that are currently listed both for sale and for auction.
- Age: search by horse's age.
- Older than: If this is the only field filled in, you will see all horses which are older than the number you entered.
- Example: If you enter "6": the search will show you all horses aged 7 and older.
- Example: If you enter "6": the search will show you all horses aged 7 and older.
- Younger than: If this is the only field filled in, you will see all horses younger than the number you entered.
- Example: If you enter "7": the search will show you all horses aged 6 and younger.
- Equal to: If this is the only field filled in, you will see all horses which are exactly the age you entered.
- Example: If you enter "3": the search will show you all horses which are exactly 3 years old.
- Finding horses within a specific age range: Allows you to search for horses within a specific age range (between two ages).
- Example: You want to see all horses between 2 and 4 years old.
- Older than: If this is the only field filled in, you will see all horses which are older than the number you entered.
When searching by age, please note that the "Equal To" field should not be filled in if any other field is in use! Searching for horses older than 5 and equal to 3 years will give you no results at all.
Try it yourself! Search for all horses currently between the ages of 6 and 8. (Hint: younger than 9, older than 5.)
